Some tools that we use
HR Advantage consultants use a range of tools and resources in consulting work with clients. These are some of the tools that we use - all are based on sound research, robust models and are used internationally.
The Team Management Profile focuses on enhancing an individual's understanding of personal work styles (both your own and others) and approaches to work. Based on the responses, a personal Team Management Profile is created to provide constructive, work-based information outlining an individual's work preferences, communication style, how they like to work in a team environment, leadership strengths, decision-making style and interpersonal skills.
The profile can be used for individual professional development, including career development, coaching and leadership development, or as a powerful team development activity for executive teams, functional teams, cross functional teams or project teams.
Linking Skills Profile (360 degree feedback tool)
Research with teams and leaders throughout the world has highlighted common skills which are essential to effectively integrate the work of individuals, teams and organisations. The Linking Skills Profile is a 360 degree feedback tool which explores the extent to which an individual should and does demonstrate these skills through key activities and behaviours.
This profile can be used individually for development of leadership skills and can also be used with leadership teams to develop leadership effectiveness at management or executive team level.
Opportunities and Obstacles Profile
At work it is important to have a balance - people who focus on the opportunities without seeing potential obstacles can make hasty decisions, whereas those who focus too much on the obstacles may be ineffective when faced with new projects or initiatives.
The Opportunities/.Obstacles Quotient (QO2TM) Profile is a unique tool that demonstrates the balance of effort people put into seeing the opportunities or obstacles at work and how they are likely to approach risk. The Profile provides personalised feedback on how an individual will see and respond to new situations and changes, solve problems, whether they sustain their focus on goals, how they handle risk and whether they take a broad view that encompasses past, present and future perspectives.
This Profile can be used to assist individuals or teams in coaching and professional development.
Values have a major influence on how individuals approach their work. They drive our decisions, cause us to defend what we believe in and determine our behaviour. We will spend a great deal of energy preserving and defending our core work values and infringements of personal values can lead to fundamental conflict at personal, team and organisational levels.
The Window on Work Values Profile or an Organisational Values Profile can be used to assist in achieving alignment in values between personal, team and organisational values and have a significant effect on the behaviour of individuals and teams.
The Team Performance Profile is a multi-rater instrument that provides a 360 degree view of how well the team is performing in terms of nine critical work functions. It provides a mini audit for teams showing where their strengths and weaknesses lie. It helps to provide an objective view of the team's performance as a whole rather than focusing on individuals within it. By including feedback from a range of sources about the team, the profile eliminates the problem of 'group think'.
The Profile can be used to help team's review their processes and priorities, identify development needs, benchmark team performance, undertake action planning for improvement, and take a strategic and holistic view of the team and how it is operating.
Centre for Creative Leadership Benchmarks 360 degree tool
This 360 degree feedback tool has been developed and continuously improved by the Centre for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. Their research of key events leading to learning by managers resulted in identification of 16 key factors that distinguish effective leaders from ineffective leaders. It also identified five key factors that can stall a career. The tool provides feedback from self, boss, peers, supervised employees and others.
Working with the feedback from the tool, HR Advantage develops a learning plan to enhance current strengths and close the gap in weaker areas.
Full Circle Feedback - staff survey and 360 degree tools
Full Circle Feedback is a survey tool which can be tailored and adapted to specific needs. Individuals, teams and organisations need feedback to improve performance and implement change successfully. Feedback helps to provide focus and direction for improvement efforts.
Working in partnership with Full Circle Feedback on individual assignment we can design and facilitate powerful feedback such as from staff surveys and 360 degree feedback tools for leadership development.
